Working with copper, you’ll learn various methods of applying liquid enamel so that it so that it interacts to create intriguing surfaces and textures. We’ll experiment with patterning, stencilling and adhesive mark-making before exploring over-firing and under-firing as techniques to produce different outcomes. Unleash your imagination, experiment and develop your skills throughout the weekend to produce a series of samples. Once you’re comfortable with the techniques and have found your style you will be ready to design and make a simple enamelled bowl that showcases the skills learned over the weekend.
Day 1: Skills Tutorials – Elizabeth will present liquid enamelling techniques through live demonstrations and presentations of a rich variety of samples. Students will experiment throughout the day.
Day 2: Design & Make – Students will have the chance to review their samples before progressing to designing, enamelling, and finishing a copper bowl or perhaps even two bowls, using the techniques that they have learned.
