Laura is a classically trained, award winning bookbinder specialising in traditional and contemporary hand-sewn books.

A first class BA degree in Bookbinding from Roehampton Institute in London provided the sound traditional training and historical knowledge on which much of her work is based. Laura is also a Queen Elizabeth Scholar (2000) and Balvenie Artisan of the Year (2005).

Laura and her husband, Chris, have run the Isle of Skye Bindery since 1999 and take on a wide range of bookbinding jobs, from limited editions to one-off commissions.

Having taught many workshops locally and at university level, Laura's supportive approach to teaching involves using comprehensive printed notes alongside step-by-step demonstrations these options are designed to give you bookbinding skills to enable you to tackle different projects in the future.
