Fully funded silversmithing residency – September to October, 2025
Closing date: 13 Jun 2025
The Hugo Burge Foundation is offering a fully funded silversmithing residency, running from Wednesday, September 17th to Wednesday, October 15th, 2025.
The residency is open to silversmiths with a minimum of 3 years' experience (post-graduation). It includes access to the Marchmont Silversmith Workshop, a private bench, accommodation on-site, and a weekly stipend of £350.
Both experienced and emerging silversmiths are welcome to apply. Established silversmiths (8+ years of experience) will have the option to teach up to four days with the current silversmith tenants, with teaching paid at the usual artist day rate of £279.
The resident will join the community of emerging silversmiths at the Marchmont Silversmithing Workshop, as well as other makers on-site. The workshop, supported by a generous donation from the late Master Silversmith Graham Stewart, provides a state-of-the-art facility for silversmiths, offering both long-term tenancies for early-career artists and shorter residencies for British and international silversmiths to develop new work and engage in cultural exchange.
