Join The Pale Rook for an enlightening and intensive three day Art Doll Making workshop at CSSC, where you will be exploring free-form art doll making. The focus will be on recognising the sparks and seeds of ideas, how to nurture them and then develop them into characters that reflect our thoughts, emotions and personal narratives.

PYou'll be working with collage, found objects, and a variety of free form doll making methods to create a doll that is entirely personal and meaningful to you.  Many of these methods have been developed by Johanna in her own doll making practice. Using intuitive design methods, you will create dolls that are not only beautiful, but unique and meaningful to you, reflecting your character, your experiences, and the stories that resonate with you.

Feel free to bring along your own collections of fabrics, embellishments, found objects etc and we will incorporate them in a meaningful way to make your doll truly personal.
