Titanium is a fantastic addition to your jewellery making repertoire because of its ability to take on beautiful, iridescent hues. It can be a tricky material to master on your own, but it’s worth a bit of perseverance and patience and with our expert guidance you’ll soon see an amazing spectrum of colours. With a bit of practise, some careful observation, and good torch control you can get some amazing and surprising results. Join us for a day of expert tuition in how to make the most of this mysterious metal, and how to transform it into stunning jewellery.⁣ As well as using heat to bring out the colour, we’ll cover different techniques for manipulating titanium such as saw piercing and rivet joints.

Titanium can’t be soldered easily, but there are endless possibilities to join and articulate it using cold connections like tab settings and rivets. Why not combine this class with a Cold Connections Masterclass and explore your titanium samples in combination with other materials too?

Students will have the opportunity to work with both sheet metal and wire to produce a number of samples before completing a simple finished project such as a pendant or pair of earrings. The finished piece will be heat-coloured to give it a brightly coloured, oxide layer that is completely stable. This torch fired titanium jewellery workshop is perfect for you if you have a bit of jewellery making experience already and want to learn a new technique to bring a new dimension of colour to your projects. All tools and materials are provided with the exception of silver which can be purchased at cost price from the school.
