Silver Clay was developed in the 90's. Using fine silver dust, an organic binder and water, a clay like material was produced which is very easy to manipulate and is perfect for producing organic textures and form. The water evaporates during drying, the organic binder burns away during firing to leave pure silver.
During this one day workshop we will focus on several of the unique aspects of Silver Clay. Its ease of taking texture and moulding into 3d forms. The easy embedding of stones and wire when wet which means entire rings can be made without soldering. Ease of carving and finishing when dry. Enabling even a jewellery beginner to make silver rings with minimal effort and few tools.
Suitable for Silver Clay beginners
7hr Workshop includes £25 worth of silver materials and stones, including 7g of silver clay
