The Wemyss School of Needlework was started in 1871 by Dora Wemyss. It was established for girls to learn a skill and earn money, therefore independence.
The pattern of Oak Leaves and Acorns was found in our archive and recently stitched by tutor, Angela Featherstone, for an International group of visitors to the school. Angela has a wealth of experience in the embroidery of costume, for Angels in London and more recently for the film Wicked.
Join Angela for this workshop which will use stranded cottons to create the oak leaf embroidery. You will learn crewelwork and embroidery with a choice of linen twill or cotton to work on.
Beginners and more experienced sewers are welcome.
