Stephanie Fradette is the fibre artist behind the brand “Le Petit Moose”, a nod to her French-Canadian roots. The Aberdeenshire-based artist blends bold colours into her woven, knotted and tufted wall hangings, showcasing rich textures, contemporary design and craftsmanship.
With a focus on creating distinctive textured works, drawing on structural and layered horizons often inspired by the ever-changing landscapes from her world travels. Bold hues and gradient colour is at the forefront of her work, creating a modern perspective on mid-century style. Her latest collection, "Remnants", was created using discarded fibres collected from years of teaching weaving workshops - breathing new life from the castoffs of one creative moment into another.
She has recently published her first book “Playful Peg Loom Weaving”. Breathing new life into an ancient traditional craft form with a choice of contemporary projects presented for a modern lifestyle.
