Workshops
As well as developing my own work and career as a professional artist over the past 25 years, I am passionate about teaching tapestry weaving and sharing knowledge. I have been teaching weaving workshops for many years throughout the UK. I began teaching 15 years ago, within the Edinburgh Adult Education Programme. I now offer regular tapestry weaving courses all year round from my studio in St. Margaret's House, central Edinburgh, for all levels of ability, from beginners to the more advanced. My courses cover a range of tapestry techniques, traditional and otherwise. I teach in groups, as well as one-to-one sessions, for all ages. As well as teaching within my studio, I am happy to travel. A teaching highlight was in 2019, when I was project manager of 'The Physic Garden Tapestry' project, running alongside the International Cordis Prize for Tapestry. I led a group of 64 weavers, of varying abilities, through weekly workshops at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, over the course of 3 months. We created a community tapestry, 4ft x 3ft in size, which now hangs in the Education Centre of The Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Lecturing & Talks
I am available to give talks about my own work.
