Elin Isaksson is an Artist & Designer-Maker, she graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2006 with an MA in Design & Applied Arts and she is now teaching glassblowing classes and producing her glass in her glass blowing studio in Dunblane. She began her glass blowing training at the famous Orrefors Glass School in Sweden learning traditional glass blowing techniques. Further education includes apprenticeship and master classes in Sweden, France and Italy. Her inspiration comes from the play of light, texture and movement in nature and aim to capture a small detail or an atmosphere rather than reproduce a direct likeness of an object or form. Isaksson mainly uses the glassblowing technique to achieve her elegant and tactile simple forms in subtle colour blends. Stockists for Isaksson's production pieces are many galleries Scotland and Northern England. She also offers bespoke glass for lighting and sculpture projects. Previous clients are: Standard Life, National Museum of Scotland, Glenfiddich and Oil & Gas UK. Her most recent commission involved designing and creating a bespoke light fitting for Abrdn's refurbished office entrance on George Street, Edinburgh.
