Overview of Role
The Crafts Council seeks engaged and knowledgeable individuals to join the Collection Advisory Committee. As a Committee Member, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the Crafts Council Collection, helping ensure it reflects the diversity of the craft sector and remains a valuable resource for the nation. The Committee will be formed of Crafts Council Staff, Industry experts and a Youth Advisory Panel member. You will collaborate with your fellow members to advise on acquisitions, collections care, loans and partnerships, contributing to an equitable and sustainable strategy that enhances the Collection's impact and accessibility.
Advisory Committee Aims
- Develop and guide the strategic direction of the Crafts Council Collection, ensuring its sustainability and relevance.
- Approve acquisitions and develop a new acquisition strategy, helping to build an inclusive, representative Collection.
- Foster engagement with the Collection by advocating for partnerships and public access initiatives.
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance collections care, develop the archive, and ensure the Collection evolves to meet contemporary needs.
​​Fee
This is a voluntary role. Reasonable travel and other relevant expenses will be reimbursed if agreed in advance and supported by receipts. It is intended for meetings to be hybrid.
