CSSC is hosting a fun-filled Easter Sunday spoon carving workshop led by master woodworker Louise Forbes, where participants will learn all the skills needed to carve their very own wooden spoon. Over the course of the day, attendees will transform a gorgeous piece of sustainably sourced Scottish wood into a carved masterpiece of their own design.
Be advised: spoon carving is addictive! After a meditative day of carving, filing, and sanding in a bright and friendly studio, attendees are likely to be hooked. All materials and tools will be provided, and participants only need to bring an open mind and a big smile.
Additionally, attendees can pick up one of CSSC's special spoon carving kits, designed with Louise Forbes's expert help. These kits include everything needed to continue carving at home: a hooked carving knife, rough and smooth files with wooden handles, various grades of sandpaper for a super smooth finish, and three spoon carving blanks (a coffee scoop, a long-handled spoon, and an eating spoon).
