Craft Community

The Scottish Potters Association promotes awareness of pottery in Scotland and aims to raise standards in the craft. They are a member’s organisation and work to support their members.

Scottish Sculpture Workshop (SSW)'s rural workshops offer access to making facilities supported by expert technicians in ceramics, foundry, forge, casting, wood and metalwork. Throughout their 42 year history, SSW has remained true to their founding ethos of collective making, living and learning.

Studio Mama is a DIY hub for creations to be actualized, alongside the aid of artist Debbie Young and the wealth of tools the studio has to offer - such as a Kiln and Screen Printing equipment & ceramic workshops.

The Textile Facilitation Unit based at Shetland College, UHI can be accessed by design businesses to enable new start-up's to progress, support existing designers and for the purpose of student/graduate research, design and development.  

Textiles Scotland assists Scotland's textile design and manufacturing sector. They aim to benefit members through interaction and collaboration with industry partners and colleagues; by providing access to information and assistance, and promoting Scottish textile products and companies to buyers, suppliers and interested parties.

The Arienas Collective is creative workshop hub based in a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s historic New Town. The Collective was set up to help artists and makers earn a living through sharing their creative skills and passions with others.
